Idina Menzel - Let It Go (Remixes)

The Oscar-winning big ballad from the Disney movie Frozen has been given remixes for the clubs by Dave Aude, DJ Escape and Tony Coluccio, and Papercha$er. Dave Aude's mix keeps the drama of the original and is quite pretty, though it just doesn't sound all that special. The Escape and Coluccio mix also suffers from a very one note production that just doesn't fit such a dynamic song. Their effects, builds, and breakdowns work really well though. Papercha$er saves the day with the perfect mix which balances the drama with a spot on production and uses nearly all of the vocals effectively. There is also another remix by Armin Van Buuren that will be appearing on a special Disney remix album.

Kimberly Davis - With You (Remixes)

This is the latest single from the big voiced diva who broke out in 2010 with "Get Up" and "Twist Of Love." Kimberly delivers yet another great vocal performance. There are 33 remixes, dubs, and edits spread out over 3 digital singles representing multiple styles including Dubstep, Electro House, Freestyle, Funky House, Big Room Tribal, and and Soulful House. Dave Aude, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, Paul Goodyear, Soulbeats, and Twisted Dee's mixes end up being the best of the bunch though all are pretty good.

Deborah Cox feat Paige - Higher (Remixes)

Nearly 7 months after the original versions were released, some new remixes were released today. Carlos Melange, Chris Staropoli (aka That Kid Chris), Dave Rose & Dimitri Tee, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, and Paige provide the new mixes. The Carlos Melange mix is a big room Electro/House style that is rather noisy, focusing on lots of buildups and breakdowns. Chris Staropoli's Moroder-esque tribal mix has a subtle 80s feel. Dave Rose & Dimitri Tee's piano-based Electro mix is uplifting and mainstream. DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio's hard mixes are the strongest of the package, utilizing all of the fantastic vocals. They give the song everything it needs to be an anthem. Both the vocal and dub mixes are well done. Rounding out the package is Paige's own new 'Resurrection' mix which is a much harder, synthier take on the original version.

Inaya Day & DJ Escape - Make Some Noise (Part 2)

Weeks after the release of part 1 comes the part 2 featuring remixes by Dom Capello, Razor N Guido, and Stephan Grondin & Nick Bertossi. Dom Capello's contemporary tribal/electro dub with just a few spoken parts. Razor N Guido deliver with their usual tribal goodness. Their Duhb is the treat with the re-created "Distortion" piano hook. Stephan Grondin and Nick Bertossi's tribal mix is also quite good. The late 90s 'pots n pans' sound that was characteristic of that time shines through at just the right moments. Also included is a full acapella. Overall, the Razor N Guido Duhb is the highlight of part 2. The Escape & Coluccio club mix and dub from Part 1 is also included as is radio edit.

Shara Strand - I Will Carry You (Remixes)

This is the latest single from the rising star. The remarkable vocalist is a former winner of multiple singing competitions. The original is in a pretty, Adult Contemporary style. It has the feel of something from the 90s, yet it sounds modern.

The massive remix package includes remixes by D1 Music, DJ Corey Dee, DJ Escape with Tony Coluccio, Edson Pride, Klubjumpers, Mike Rizzo, and Soulbeats. With the exception of the DJ Corey Dee, Mike Rizzo, and Soulbeats mixes, all of the mixes are in different variations of the big room, circuit style. DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio is especially good, working well at peak hour and in mainstream sets. Naturally, the dub is harder. Mike Rizzo's is more of a mainstream Dance/Pop one. The Soulbeats mix has a tribal element but it's subtle. Overall, all of the mixes are really good.

Inaya Day & DJ Escape - Make Some Noise (Part 1)

Several months in the making, the Gospel/House diva known for the classics "Keep Pushin", "Hold Your Head Up High", and "Movin' Up" has teamed up with one of the Circuit scene's brightest stars for this new single. This song has the same soul and passion that made her earlier hits so memorable and beloved. Inaya sounds amazing. The main production by DJ Escape with Tony Coluccio is in their signature synthy, tribal style, though it is more anthemic than usual. The dub of the main version would work as a great tease to the full mix. Additional remixes on this first package are by Eddie Elias and Peter Presta.  Eddie's mixes are even harder than the main ones, capturing the big room vibe of Earth era Junior Vasquez mixes (especially the ones he did with Joe Carrano). Peter Presta's mix is hard as well, but it has more of a techy, tribal feel. It's nice as well. Rounding out the package is a DJ tool with just some of Inaya's ad libs and some of the main hook. Overall, every mix is great. A 2nd package with more mixes is planned for a later release with a lineup including Dom Capello, Johnny Vicious, Razor & Guido, Stephan Grondin, Nick Bertossi. This is sure to be the massive this year.

Keenan Cahill and Electrovamp - Hands Up (Remixes)

This was released in the middle of the Summer last year, though the remixes have just come out in time for Spring break. This song is very Ke$ha-esque (the chorus calls to mind her breakthrough hit "Tik Tok"). While it is nothing groundbreaking, it is pleasant and fun. DJ Escape and longtime production partner Tony Coluccio deliver a banging, peakhour mix. The heavily autotuned vocals work better on this mix than on the original.

Donna Summer - Stamp Your Feet (Joel Dickinson Pride 2012 Mix)

Legions of fans said goodbye to the legendary Queen Of Disco as she passed away suddenly last month. Her last major album release was the Crayons album from 2008. "Stamp Your Feet" was the second single from that record. It was remixed to perfection by DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio and Jason Nevins.

Just in time for the Pride festivities of 2012 comes this revisit of the joyful number by Joel Dickinson. The production is absolutely lovely with the big synths and hard beats, complementing Donna's amazing vocals. This is a wonderful update and a great tribute to the Queen.

Guinevere - Crazy Crazy

She is a new Dance/Pop singer-songwriter hoping to make a name for herself with this Cirkut produced song. Her voice and visual image call to mind Gwen Stefani, Ke$ha, and Lady Gaga. The memorable hook and chorus is just so cute.

There are are remixes for this by Dave Aude, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, and DJ Kue.

Mary Mary - Walking

This is the latest single from Gospel/R&B sister duo Mary Mary. In terms of lyrics and themes, this doesn't deviate too far from their usual. The sisters deliver a good vocal performance. There are remixes of this by Dave Aude, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, Harlan Pepper & AG, and Karmatronic. Dave Aude delivers a funky house mix with some lovely atmospheric elements. DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio provide a slightly harder mix with some nice synth-work. Harlan Pepper & AG's mix is a bit more soulful, calling to mind the work of legends like Steve "Silk" Hurley. Karmatronic's synth-laden mix is the hardest-hitting of bunch. Overall, every mix is well-done.

Tiffany Evans - I'll Be There

This is the lead single off of her upcoming second album. In its original version, it is an uplifting, powerful song. Tiffany delivers a superb vocal performance on this one. The midtempo ballad is transformed for the dancefloor by remixers DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, Karmatronic, and Wawa. Escape and Coluccio turn the song into a melodic big room anthem. Despite the hard nature of the production, the integrity of the song is maintained. Karmatronic's mix is tribal as well, but not as dark. Wawa's is milder, on the funkier house side. Overall, all versions of the song are excellent, in addition to the original.

Solange - I Told You So (Remixes)

This is the 6th single from the Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams album era. This is a club-only single at this time. It is a smooth midtempo with an old school feel in its original version. Solange's vocals are great. There are remixes for this by Razor N Guido, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio, and Mike Rizzo. Razor N Guido offer some circuit-oriented mixes which will take listeners back to the early part of their career, sonically speaking. Their production goes so well with the song, transforming it into a rollercoaster of sound for the dancefloor. Their Duhb mix could be thought of as a whole new production as it bears little resemblance to their main mixes. This is quite a fun ride with its straight out of Twilo references including "Wer*Ship" and "Your Child." DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio offer something tribal/electro oriented, but it's a bit darker and minimal and doesn't really go anywhere. Mike Rizzo's mixes have an 80's electro/pop feel which works well. Razor N Guido's are the best of the bunch.

Erika Jayne - Pretty Mess

This is her 4th single off of her debut album of the same name. This song is not a cover of the Vanity 6 guilty pleasure of the 80's. The song is a cute midtempo in its original version. Erika sounds wonderful on this. The remixes by Dave Aude, Larry Tee, Klubjumpers, DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, Tracy Young, Bill Hamel, Marshall Stack, and Peter Rafelson give every dancefloor a little something. Dave Aude's version gives the song a fun edge. This version is also used in the music video. Larry Tee's is a gritty electro affair. Klubjumpers' is a bit laidback compared to their usual. DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious offer a tribal/electro mix. Tracy Young's is gorgeous big room mix. It maintains the pretty vibe of the original. Bill Hamel's resembles 80's synthpop at its finest. Marshall Stack's has an 80's feel in some parts but with some gritty electro thrown in. Peter Rafelson's is electro-ish with an 80's touch too. Some parts resemble Coldplay's "Clocks". Overall, this is a solid package. Tracy Young's is the standout.

Sun - Fancy Free (Remixes)

Nearly three months after the initial release of the song come the remixes. As has happened with earlier singles, there are plenty of them. Dave Aude, Digital Dog, DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, Mike Rizzo, Wawa, Pete Tong & Paul Harris, and 3 Amigos provide the remixes (so far, there could even end up being more later on). Dave Aude and Mike Rizzo both maintain the swing beat of the original. Both could easily pass as clubbier versions of the original. They don't stray too far from that and they sound great. Digital Dog's is their standard funky house mix. The bassline is killer. DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious provide a big room treatment that works pretty well. Wawa's is somewhat electro/funky house-ish like the Digital Dog one, but this has a fresher feel. Tong & Harris opt for a lighter, more soulful sound. Very pretty. 3 Amigos go in a minimal, afterhours direction. There's a little something for everyone.

Anjulie - Rain

Having already had two club hits with "Boom" and "Love Songs", her new single "Rain" will repeat that success. A folky, guitar pop song in its original version, DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio make the song into an anthem. Their production is very layered and beautiful. It has a rich, complex feel to it that is just so lovely. The production complements Anjulie's subtle vocal performance. There may be other mixes on the way, but this is the mix of choice so far..

Carmen Reece - Right Here

Hailing from the UK, Carmen Reece is set to make her stateside debut with "Right Here." It really showcases her impressive vocal range. "Right Here" is an uptempo R&B/Pop track. The club mixes by Dave Aude, Escape & Tony Coluccio, DJ Markie Mark, and Jason Nevins are really great as well. Dave Aude's is light Dance/Pop with some nice piano keys thrown in. This could easily be played on Pop radio. Escape & Coluccio's is hard and driving and makes this almost anthemic. DJ Markie Mark's is sort of in-between the two. Speeding up the vocals doesn't sound that good Jason Nevins' is his usual Dance/Rock goodness. It works well. Great package overall.

Charlie - Love Sets You Free

This is the Florida-based artist's first proper single. The Dance-oriented track has already begun to get some club play. The main version was produced by Dom Capello. It's a nice hard-hitting, but melodic track. Charlie's vocals are really beautiful.

There are plenty of remixes. DJ Escape & Tony Coluccio's continues in the same direction as the Dom Capello one, however, it is a bit harder and not as vocally-oriented. Nick Harvey's mixes are nice and tribal as well. Even less vocals on these, but the beats and synths are just so hard and driving on these. The dub is an adventure from start to finish. The Dave Rose mix has a lot more vocals. It is also much milder in comparison to the others, but it's still great.

A strong package overall.

DJ Escape - Global Groove: Dance

This is his latest mixed CD for Centaur Records. It is filled with a number of productions that he did with fellow collaborators Dom capello, Tony Coluccio and Johnny Vicious. The significant majority of the songs and remixes on the comp have not been released in any form previously.

The energy of the entire set does not let up until it is over. There are some ebbs and flows and changes in the intensity, but it just keeps getting harder and more frenetic. Most of the songs are vocal oriented. Some standouts include the two Sunshine Anderson cuts that both begin and end the set. "Force Of Nature" was given a very limited release on a 12" a couple years ago. Those two tracks are highly underrated. Other highlights of the mix are "Bad, Bad Boy" (which was recently released as a single), "Love Sets You Free", "Sweat", and "Give It On Up." All of the songs chosen for the set are great though.

The compilation will be released in physical form on April 14, 2009. It is available digitally at SoundPost already.

Kristine W. - Never

Hot on the heels of her cover of the Diana Ross Disco classic "The Boss", she is back with a new song. This is not a cover. Announced a few weeks back, this one calls to mind some of the work she did during the 90's. It does not sound dated though. It just feels like a 'classic' already. Kristine's vocals are stunning as usual. Remixes by 7th Heaven, Love To Infinity, Ruff & Torte, DJ Escape & Johnny Vicious, Peter Canellis/Kamil, Nick Harvey, Brothers Behind The Light/M2 and The Perry Twins will be on the CD maxi single, which is to be released on November 24. The single can be ordered from her website. A digital release will happen in the next few weeks.

BoA - Eat You Up

This is the lead English-language single from the Korean Pop singer BoA's upcoming U.S. album. Having previously recorded in the Korean and Japanese languages, she's ready to try English. Produced by Bloodshy & Avant, this song combines elements of her earlier sounds with B&A's. The result is a R&B/Dance/Pop clubbanger. BoA's vocals are pretty good on the track.

This song has been remixed for the clubs as well. DJ Escape with Johnny Vicious and King Britt have completed mixes so far. Escape & Vicious provide a nice, melodic tribal mix while King Britt provides a tribal, synthladen mix. Both are great overall.
