Warren Nomi - #TIMEwarped (Album Review)

The new album from the Dance/Pop artist is finally here! The album is a mix of contemporary Electro and 80s Synth Pop. The result is a collection of well-constructed songs that will appeal to a wide audience. Warren's vocals recall those of Boy George and even Andy Bell (of Erasure). Fans of both artists will want to check this out. Some of the highlights include the covers of Kurtis Mantronik's "How Did You Know" (it was also remade by Mynt and Kim Sozzi in the mid 2000s) and Victoria Beckham's "My Love Is For Real", along with "French Kisses", "Falling"m and "Tease Me." "Tease Me" appears in 3 different incarnations, however the Love To Love You Baby mix of it is the best with the references to the Donna Summer classic, but the funky vibe of it really takes it to the next level. Overall, this is a solid album.

Warren Nomi - Love Out Loud

This is a very special charity single that the Dance/Pop singer-songwriter has recorded for the purpose of donating proceeds to several organizations which help with anti-bullying efforts and suicide prevention. The song's message is very positive and uplifting. Warren's vocals are amazing as can be expected. The song has a strong 80s synthpop flavor coupled with contemporary Electro/Pop. It's a wonderful track.

Warren Nomi - My Love Is For Real

To celebrate the recent U.S. Supreme Court rulings regarding same-sex marriage, Warren Nomi has covered Victoria Beckham's unreleased single "My Love Is For Real" which was co-written by Cathy Dennis. The song's main riff bears a striking resemblance to Inner City's classic "Good Life." Goh Hotoda (known for his work with the legendary Shep Pettibone) produced the main mix, delivering something that sounds like it could be from the 90s, which is really nice considering that throwbacks to these classic styles has been in lately. Warren does a superb job with the vocals. The layering of his lead vocals with the harmonies and backing vocals are really lovely too.

As a bonus, Warren is offering a bonus remix by Parralox of his earlier single "This Summer I". This update makes it more contemporary sounding.

Warren Nomi - This Summer I

Newcomer Warren Nomi's single "The Rush" has just begun its ascent on the Billboard Hot Club Play chart. He has just released "This Summer I." The original is a lovely Rock-tinged uptempo. Warren's vocals evoke images of Dance/Pop singer-songwriter Darren Hayes. There are some remixes by Björn Bodin and Mike Bordes vs. Klubjumpers. The main Björn Bodin mixes call to mind ATB's early work with that distinct synth guitar hook mixed with the big room sound of today. It's a euphoric hands-in-the-air type of mix. The radio edit feels a little softer while the other versions are  harder. The Mike Bordes vs. Klubjumpers mix has some of the Rock vibe of the original with some Electro elements. The Björn Bodin Summer Of Club mix is the best of the bunch. This is a great track just waiting to be heard.
