Bouvier and Barona feat Amber Dirks - Dominate My Love

Those looking for a massive big room vocal track need to look no further! Released a couple of days ago, this song packs a lot of punch. Club diva Amber Dirks soars on this gem, particularly on the main version by Bill Bouvier with Peter Barona. Additional remixes are by Edson Pride, Julissa Veloz, Manny Lehman, Oliver Watts, Peter Brown, and Rod Carillo. Edson Pride's mix is in a similar style as the original as is Manny Lehman's. Julissa Veloz and Rod Carillo deliver mixes that recall Offer Nissim's style circa 5 to 7 years ago. Peter Brown goes in a Garage House direction. Oliver Watts delivers a big room mix that would also work well on mainstream floors. Overall, every mix is great.

Alexis Salgado - I Need You (Remixes)

This is the latest from the Carillo recording artist. The song has a yearning urgency about it and Alexis' delivery of the vocals really bring out that aspect. The Shock Pop version  repeats the verse where Alexis sings about the butterflies multiple times like it's a chant. The mix has a twisted, fun feel. Rod Carillo's mix is has a mysterious, foreboding feel to it with the piano loop and dark bass. Noise Mac's dubstep styled mix is really contemporary and dark. Peter Barona and John Hull's big room-oriented mix makes the best use of the vocals. This one ends up being the best of the bunch.

Kaylah Marin - On The Floor (Oh Baby Please)

This is the sexy new single from rising star Kaylah Marin. She sings about how she wants her potential suitor to take her on the dancefloor. Her vocals are quite good on this track. The original is a midtempo and would work well remixed. There are remixes by Mike Rizzo, Tracy Young, Rod Carillo, Josh Harris, and The Perry Twins. Mike Rizzo's is a simple dance/pop mix. Tracy Young's is her usual big room, circuit mix. Rod Carillo's is electro-oriented. Josh Harris' mix has a nice 80's synthpop feel to. The Perry Twins go in a simple dance/pop direction as well, a bit of a departure from some of their other work. The package is really great overall.

Capretta - Big Mama's House

This is a new single from singer Vincent Capretta who had a few underground club hits throughout the years, several of which were revisits of some Disco classics. This track is in the same vein as Barry Harris and Pepper MaShay's club classic "Dive In The Pool" or some of the recent Vicki Shepard and Jeanie Tracy ones. There is some singing on it too.

Rod Carillo's main mix and dub have this very 'euphoric' feel to them. It calls to mind what Kaskade, Adam K and Soha and other similar producers have been doing lately. His Progression mix is much harder and darker. Peter Brown's mix is circuit-oriented. Chris Shannon's mix is in a similar vein but feels a little messy at times. DJ Kilo's mix is electro-ish. It has a lot more energy than the other mixes. Tim Schommer's mix is a bit on the minimal side. The Perry Twins deliver a mix that sort of encompasses little bits of all the aforementioned styles in in a way that works effectively.

Overall, the package is pretty good. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's worth checking out.

Judy Torres - Hell No

This is the latest from the Freestyle legend. There have only been a handful of artists from that era who managed to maintain a successful career in Dance music, and Ms. Torres is one of them. After the lukewarm reception to her Danielle Peck cover of "I Don't" last year, she is back with something that has already begun to generate a lot of buzz. Tackling the subject of domestic violence in a relationship, "Hell No" is not just another 'public service announcement' type of record. The vocals are top notch as are the lyrics. The real gem is the Tony Moran & Warren Rigg mix. It's a hard, driving mix that lends itself to the vocals. This is a must-buy. Masterbeat has this as an exclusive right now.

Christian George - Strangers

Christian George has been on the scene for some time now as a model, dancer, stylist, occasional actor and now singer. His first single is the sexy "Strangers." He sings about staying anonymous when meeting a potential lover for the night. The lyrics flow rather well. Despite the mature subject matter, the lyrics are not vulgar. The main version is Electro-Dance/Pop. Although Christian may not have the strongest vocals, he manages fairly well. Over time, he could grow further and then be lumped into the same category as other R&B/Dance/Pop singers Craig David, Ne-Yo, Justin Timberlake and Darren Hayes.

This one is currently being promoted to the Dance clubs with a plethora of remixes. Jack Rokka, Thomas Gold, Speakerbox, The Wideboys, Funk Generation, and Rod Carillo provide the mixes. All the mixes are House-oriented. The Wideboys and Thomas Gold ones are a bit more Electro than the others. All the mixes have a "classic" feel to them, with the exception of the Rod Carillo one. His is a bit more modern. Slightly tribal.

Twisted Dee and Alyson Calagna have also done mixes which were not a part of the first set. These ones are a bit more hard-hitting and are Circuit-oriented. These would make a great addition to the already strong package.

Brian Anthony - WhatsitgonnaB? (I'm So Ready)

While he may be almost unknown to the majority of us, he has slowly gained a significant following online. His latest single "WhatsitgonnaB? (I'm So Ready)" was recently featured in the movie Fantastic Four 2: Rise Of The Silver Surfer. This midtempo R&B/Dance clubbanger has been remixed for the clubs and Dance radio by Chus & Ceballos, Albert Castillo, Rui Da Silva, Rod Carillo and Chris Noxx. The original has the feel of something the Backstreet Boys would have done during their heyday. While the vocals aren't the greatest, they are rather hypnotic. The chorus and pre-chorus are really infectious. Of the remixes, Chus & Ceballo's are really dubbish use just a few vocals samples and ad-libs making it a whole other track. The minimal sound fits really well. Albert Castillo's mixes are more circuit/funky house-ish. He uses all the vocals. The synths from the original, just manipulated a little are there. This one has the greatest club and radio potential. Rui Da Silva and Rod Carillo's are a bit more underground-sounding, but are interesting also. The Chris Noxx mix is in a similar vein as the original. It has harder synths and other little embellishments. Overall, this is a decent package.
