Chris Cox's Unreleased Remixes

Remixer/producer/DJ Chris Cox has done many remixes over the years both with Barry Harris as Thunderpuss and on his own. In addition to all the released ones, there are a handful of unreleased ones that the public has never really had a chance to listen to unless they check out Chris playing them live. In the month of May, Chris posted streams of a few of these in addition to many previously released ones. A few had posted before that time, but some may not have checked them out yet. These are some of the rare and even previously unreleased ones: Celine Dion's "Because You Loved Me", Ellie Goulding's "Starry Eyed"Houston's "I Like That" (this was released on some 12" singles and the edit on some CD maxis but it's really rare), Janet Jackson's "All Nite (Don't Stop)", and Kelly Rowland's "Still In Love With My Ex".

Kelly Rowland - Dirty Laundry

The former member of Destiny's Child's latest single is a slow midtempo addressing some of the difficult things that she went through in her personal life. Although she doesn't explicitly name those certain people involved, it's pretty obvious who it is about. After a string of singles that were sexually explicit, this one is a welcome departure. The intriguing song is beautifully sung by Kelly. The song is deeper and isn't quite as commercial as her prior singles, but interest generated from the potential controversy over the subject matter might help it a bit.

Brook Penning - My Heart!

This is the singer-songwriter's new single produced by the legendary Robert Clivilles (of C+C Music Factory). Brook's vocals are comparable to Beyonce and Kelly Rowland in terms of abilities and style. The production on the song is a throwback to Enur's "Calabria 2007" which was a big hit throughout much of the world. The sax hook in the back and the programming bears a striking resemblance to it. The Samba After Hours mix gives the song a nice tribal workout. Overall, the song is very catchy and fun.

Alex Gaudino feat Kelly Rowland - What A Feeling

Italian producer/remixer/DJ Alex Gaudino teams up with Kelly Rowland for this brand new song. This is not a remake of the Flashdance song. This is a refreshing track with another solid vocal by Kelly. She is perfectly in her element when it comes to dance music. The Disco/House production of the original is wonderful. The I'm Still In Love Remix has a production similar to Alex's 2010 smash "I'm In Love (I Wanna Do It)". This is a very energetic electro/house production. The Nicky Romero mix gives the song a minimal electro feel. Overall, all three versions are great.

Kelly Rowland - Commander

After her collaboration with David Guetta which resulted in a huge worldwide hit, her new single "Commander" is also produced by him. She performed this song to a warm response at this year's Winter Music Conference. Ms. Rowland previously recorded mostly in the R&B and Hip Hop styles but has had remixes for some of her singles. The Dance/Electronic sound really suits her well. Her vocals are exquisite on this. The lyrics are great as well. The production is hot and dancefloor ready. This is sure to be a smash as well and is a great preview to her upcoming third studio album.

David Guetta featuring Kelly Rowland - Love Takes Over

There had been considerable buzz surrounding this collaboration even before people could have a chance to hear it. It is worth of all the buzz and praise it has been getting. Of course it will be an event when a former Destiny's Child member and a French House producer come together. Kelly's voice is a great fit for Dance/Electronic music as demonstrated by the vast number of remixes that have been done for her singles. On this particular song, she showcases more of her range which is a good thing. She sounds perfectly at home on this track. The production is really great. The aggressive, energetic intro leads to a chilled, almost "Clocks"-like keyboard loop. And then Kelly's vocals come in. It's a nice blend of hard and soft. There are several remixes of this coming soon. This one will prove to be one of this year's biggest club tracks on both sides of the Atlantic.
