Killian Wells - Psycho

Electro/Pop artist Killian Wells is ready to dominate the dancefloors with his latest release "Psycho." He could be thought of as a male counterpart to Ke$ha or Lady Gaga, with his hooky lyrics and visual artistry. While he's not the greatest vocalist, he does pretty well with what he has. The song works a lot better in remixed form. Nu Addiction, Dangerous Muse, 8Barz, and Kids On Drugs provide remixes. Nu Addiction provides a funky house mix, taking some of the edge off. Dangerous Muse's mixes sound like a meatier version of the original and complement the vocals better. 8Barz provides an 80's sounding electro/synthpop mix. Finally, the Kids On Drugs mix is a thick electro one. Overall, the Nu Addiction and Dangerous Muse ones are the best.

Grade: B (for the original)/A- (for the Nu Addiction and Dangerous Muse mixes)

Dangerous Muse - I Want It All

This is their highly anticipated new single. It's electro/dance/pop track. Their underlying rock sound can be found on this song too. The vocals are pretty good. There are remixes by Tracy Young, Jake Shananhan & E-Marce, DJ D-Major & Lindsay Luv, Apres Garde, and Ian Nieman. Tracy's is a nice, laidback big room mix. Not as hard as her usual, but still good. Jake & E-Marce's feels like a souped up version of the original. DJ D-Major & Lindsay Luv and Apres Garde's are both electro/house-oriented. Ian Nieman's is circuit oriented with a nice hint of electro. The whole package is really good. Tracy and Ian's are the standouts.

They want danger

They first gained attention with "The Rejection" over a year ago and followed it up with an EP featuring several tracks. No proper album yet, but hopefully one is in the works. Of the Dance/Rock-oriented EP, "Give Me Danger" became the next single. It has the feel of a Depeche Mode or Erasure track. The vocals definitely will call to mind Dave Gahan. Not a bad thing though. This similarity could hopefully cause fans of Dangerous Muse to check out Depeche Mode and Erasure if they have not done so already.

Just as was done with "The Rejection", "Give Me Danger" has received some remixes. Peter Rauhofer headlines on this project, however, there are over half a dozen other mixes that are worthy of attention as well. Peter Rauhofer opted to go in the electro-house direction he has been dabbling in for the last couple of years. For a song of this nature, it is quite appropriate. The slowed-down vocals lose some of the "oomph" found in the original. The production doesn't have the feel of "danger" as may have been expected, however, it is pretty decent.

A CD maxi containing the original, Rauhofer and other mixes was issued a few weeks back. It is available at some brick n' mortar stores, however PerfectBeat and Amazon are good options as they have carried it and may do so for some time.
