George Benson - Give Me The Night (DJ Meme Remix)

The Jazz great originally released this Disco/Funk track in 1980. It is one of his most successful recordings, and has gone on to be sampled and covered countless times, most notably by Randy Crawford (with superb remixes by Mousse T) and Xavier (with a fun mix by the Freemasons). DJ Meme has revisited this classic in a light, soulful House style which is close to the original, but updated just enough. It is available to download for a limited time.

DJ Meme Orchestra feat Tracey K - Love Is You

Thrust into the mainstream's consciousness nearly a decade ago when Spiller sampled it on his breakthrough hit "Groovejet (If This Ain't Love)" featuring the vocals of Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Carol Williams' "Love Is You" has been covered in full. Uplifting and beautiful, the original was one of many gems in the Salsoul catalogue. House diva Tracey K's vocal performance is somewhat faithful to the original, however, she change some things up. The production on the main mix is exquisite, with much of the original disco flavor left unchanged, but it has been modernized ever so slightly. The Knee Deep Dub is beautiful as well. Also included are a TV track and instrumental of the main versions. Do check out the Carol Williams original as well.

Martin Clancy and the Witness Protection Programme - Flat Foot

This one has 'classic' written all over it. From the lush strings to the funky bassline and understated beats, this one has all the makings of something from the heyday of Disco. The vocals are great, complementing this retro jam perfectly. The main mix is pure Disco heaven. There are additional mixes by Stonebridge, Richard Morel, DJ Meme, Liam Bates, DJ Bander, and Louie Balo & Trakkula. Stonebridge toughens things up just a little while Richard Morel toughens it up a lot more. DJ Meme and Liam Bates both preserve the Disco atmosphere of the original while making it slightly more modern. DJ Bander vs. Floppy Kid's mix is sparsely produced keeping it to the bare minimum. Louie Balo & Trakkula's mix is a noisy, electro mix which doesn't really bring much. Also included is a mix called the Clancyhouse Elizabeth Jane mix which has an electro-tinged "I Feel Love" type production. Overall, the original, DJ Meme, and Liam Bates versions are the highlights, however, Stonebridge and Morel's closely follow.

DJ Spen and Robert Owens - A Greater Love 2010

This originally came out just a few years ago and now it's back with some brand new mixes. The song is sensual and elegant featuring a fine vocal performance by the incomparable Robert Owens. The new mixes are by The Layabouts, DJ Meme, and the Groove Assassins. The Layabouts offer a light tribal mix with the soulful vibe of the original preserved. DJ Meme's mixes are a classy throwback to disco at its finest. DJ Meme's Reprise version is also lovely, losing just the beats but keeping all those lush strings and bass, and of course Robert's vocals. Groove Assassins offer something a tad harder, but the soulful vibe is maintained. Wisely included are the two mixes from the original release. Every version on this release is excellent. DJ Meme's mixes are the highlight.
