Robyn - Call You Girlfriend

This is her latest single from the Body Talk album. On "Call Your Girlfriend", Robyn is telling her man to inform his other girlfriend that he is leaving her. The synthpop drenched song has a similar tone as earlier smash "Dancing On My Own", however, this one isn't so melancholy. The original is pure dance/pop perfection. There are remixes by Sultan & Ned Shepard and Kaskade. Sultan & Ned Shepard harden things up with their aggressive electro-house mix. Kaskade's mixes pack the same punch but are a little mellower. There is also the bass-heavy electro Feed Me mix. Overall, the Kaskade mix is the best of the bunch.

Robyn - Cobrastyle

This is her latest single in the U.S. It is actually a cover of a song originally released by Teddybears back in 2006. It is an electro/pop/reggae track. The lyrics are rather repetitive, but they're fun. This song is being promoted to the clubs with remixes by Adam K & Soha, Mason, Bloody Beetroots and The Touch. It recently charted. While the song may not be overly special, it has a killer bassline and the unusual lyrics are strangely catchy.

Watch her performing it here.

Snoop Dogg - Sensual Seduction (Part Deux)

Snoop's latest offering "Sensual Seduction" ("Sexual Eruption") has been climbing up the charts. It is impossible to go anywhere without hearing (or seeing) it. In an effort to keep it fresh, two remixes have been completed that preserve the feel and vibe of the original, but add something new. The first mix features rapper Lil' Kim. Her minimal portions are raunchy and explicit as expected, however, she keeps the profanity to a minimum. The unexpected twist comes in the form of the second remix which features Swedish Pop starlet Robyn, who most notably had a handful of hits in the U.S. during the mid 90's. She recently hit it big in Europe with her recent album. That album is to be released in the U.S. in the next few months. Aside from the added Electronica elements, it doesn't stray too far from the original. Robyn's lyrics are actually naughtier than Lil' Kim's!!! Some would wonder how that is possible, but it happened here. It's an unlikely pairing, but it works well. Both mixes freshen up the track very well. Hopefully both will be properly released since they are really worth our while.
