Cher - I Walk Alone (Remixes)

The latest single from her Closer To The Truth album has been remixed for a club release. Pop/Rock diva P!nk wrote this song and also performed the background vocals. The rock tinged song was a fan favorite. The Dance/Rock/Country style of the original works really well and Cher sounds great singing over that production. There are remixes by JRMX, Mike Rizzo, Morlando, and Tracy Young on this first set. JRMX delivers a Disco/House mix reminiscent of the Freemasons' signature sound that works surprisingly well. Mike Rizzo provides an interesting mix that incorporates dub step elements which somehow works. Morlando's 80s sounding mix is anthemic, however, it lacks a certain something that would take it over the top. Tracy Young's mix is a big room oriented Electro House one. It's the most mainstream mix of the bunch.

P!nk - Try (Remixes)

It took a little time for the song to gain momentum, by P!nk's "Try" is a certified hit. Many had been wanting some club remixes for the song. There have been a few uncommissioned ones. Here are 3 of the best ones by Cosmic Dawn and Peter Rauhofer.

Cosmic Dawn's mix maintains most of the elements of the original, making it just a little faster. Fans of remixes that don't stray too far from the original will love this.

Peter Rauhofer remixes this into a gorgeous peak hour transformation. He did change up the structure of the verses and the chorus, but it works quite well.

Both of these mixes are extremely well done.

P!nk - Try

This is the second single from her upcoming album. It is a midtempo Rock power ballad with a massive chorus originally written by Busbee and Ben West, and produced by Greg Kurstin. This is the single many have been waiting for as P!nk really shines on it. The song sounds like something out of the 90s, but not in a dated way. The song has all the makings of becoming a modern classic and a huge hit.

P!nk - Blow Me (One Last Kiss)

The wait is finally over and P!nk is back with the lead single off of her next album. The title is a tad racy, but isn't really indicative of the content of the song. Produced by Greg Kurstin, this is a very relatable song with the breakup subject. P!nk brings it with her signature attitude and air of humor. The only part of the song that may be a turnoff for some is the second half of the chorus with the "just when it can't get worse I've had a shit day, you had a shit day, we've had a shit day" part. Overall, this is another strong start to what is sure to be another massive album for her.

P!nk - Perfect

This is the second single of two new songs off of her Greatest Hits...So Far! collection. In a similar vein as the previous single "Raise Your Glass", "Perfect" (aka "Fuckin' Perfect"--the original unedited version) is also a song about celebrating and being yourself. The pop/rock midtempo is really beautiful. The censored version loses just the profanity and has amended lyrics which do not affect the overall flow of the song. So far, there is a dance remix by Riddler which preserves the integrity of the song. Wonderfully underproduced, the vocals have a chance to remain as the focal point. Overall, this is a great song with an excellent remix.

Pink - Raise Your Glass

"Raise Your Glass" is 1 of 2 new songs set to appear on her upcoming Greatest Hits...So Far!! collection. This is a dance/rock styled uptempo. P!nk is in a celebratory, fun mood on this one. Her great vocals and signature attitude make this song shine. This could have easily appeared on her last album had it been recorded at that time. While it is not all that different from her usual, it's good.

NOW That's What I Call Club Hits

This is the first release in a new series from the people behind the other NOW compilations. The concept of NOW That's What I Call Club Hits is a bit different from some of the other current hits compilations such as those from Ultra Records or those Total Club Hits type ones. While the song selections may be similar, those are all continuously mixed. This NOW one is unmixed for the most part. Some of the songs have been sequenced and edited in a way that there is no silence between the shift from one track to the next, but each track begins like it's supposed to.

Almost all of the songs appearing on the compilation are radio edits. Only a few are slightly longer. If those longer ones were shorter, a couple more tracks could have been included.

Here's the tracklisting:
01. Black Eyed Peas - "Boom Boom Guetta" (David Guetta's Electro Hop Remix)
02. Sean Kingston - "Fire Burning" (Dave Aude Radio)
03. Flo Rida - "Right Round" (Benny Benassi Remix Edit)
04. Pitbull - "I Know What You Want Me (Calle Ocho)" (More English Radio Edit)
05. David Guetta feat. Kelly Rowland - "When Loves Takes Over" (Electro Radio Edit)
06. Kid Cudi - "Day 'N' Nite" (Crookers Remix Radio Edit)
07. Keri Hilson feat. Kanye West and Ne-Yo - "Knock You Down" (Bimbo Jones Radio Remix)
08. Ciara feat. Justin Timberlake - "Love Sex Magic" (Jason Nevins Sex Club Radio Mix)
09. Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain - "Blame It" (The New Devices Remix)
10. Lady Gaga - "Lovegame" (Dave Aude Radio Edit)
11. Kelly Clarkson - "My Life Would Suck Without You" (Chriss Ortega Radio Mix)
12. P!nk - "Please Don't Leave Me" (Digital Dog Radio Edit)
13. Katy Perry - "Waking Up In Vegas" (Calvin Harris Remix Edit)
14. The Killers - "Spaceman" (Tiesto Remix)
15. Kevin Rudolf feat. Lil Wayne - "Let It Rock" (Filthy Dukes [Radio])
16. Bad Boy Bill feat. Alyssa Palmer - "Falling Athem"
17. Empire Of The Sun - "Walking On A Dream" (Kaskade Remix)
18. Depeche Mode - "Wrong" (Thin White Duke Remix)
19. Jackson 5 - "Dancing Machine" (Polow Remix)

The tracklisting of the compilation is quite strong overall. Even though a majority of the songs/remixes featured have been released digitally, they have not been released on a CD of this nature unmixed. In addition to the Pop, R&B, Hip Hop, Rock and Alternative acts, some choice Dance/Electronic ones have been included, making this compilation quite eclectic.

The compilation will be released in the U.S. in both CD and digital form on September 22, 2009.

Pink - Sober

This is the second single off of her fifth album Funhouse which was released yesterday. While "So What" is still hot on radio and digital downloads, this one is about to hit radio stations too. Co-produced by Danja, Tony Kanal (of No Doubt) and Jimmy Harry, this song is a Rock/Pop track. This one isn't as edgy as earlier single "So What", but it is just as catchy. The lyrics are really great, as is the production.

Remixes by Junior Vasquez have already been completed and are slated for a release in the next few weeks. He will be premiering his mix at the Salem event by Saint At Large at Roseland in New York this weekend.

Pink - So What

This is her much-awaited lead single from her upcoming fifth studio album. Her previous effort I'm Not Dead had a rough start but had an amazing finish. "So What" is an attitude-filled Rock/Pop track. She does sing about her recent breakup with husband Carey Hart. It makes for an angst-filled song that does call to mind Alanis Morissette's first U.S. album Jagged Little Pill, however, the similarity ends there. Pink's song is able to hold its own. It also calls to mind her smash hit "U & Ur Hand." For a lead single, this is a great start to this era.

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl

After the internet success of "Ur So Gay", she is back with her first proper single from new album One Of The Boys. "I Kissed A Girl" is about exactly what the title alludes to. This isn't the first time a song has dealt with this theme (see Jill Sobule's song of the same name or "Some Girls Dance With Women" by JC Chasez), but this one deals with it in a fresh way. Written by Dr. Luke how has penned hits for Kelly Clarkson and P!nk, this one is a super catchy Pop/Rock piece of bubblegum. It has gained considerable radio airplay as are its digital sales. This one may prove to be a Summer hit for Ms. Perry. Hopefully this will be the first of many successes for her.
