Adam Lambert - If I Had You

There's another uncommissioned remix of Adam's third single, and it is by Trypsin & Billy Waters. For those wanting something a bit more circuit-oriented, this is it. They manage to maintain the fun vibe of the original while making it more club-friendly.This is really great.

David Morales featuring Janice Robinson - I Make You Gaga

Nearly six years have passed since his last proper artist album 2 Worlds Collide was released. It spawned a number of singles. The first single from the forthcoming album is "I Make You Gaga." It is a strange electro/tribal track with the mysterious "I bet I make you gaga" vocal being repeated throughout. After a couple of minutes, Janice's vocals become really hypnotic and the initial weirdness wears off. In true Morales fashion, it has all sorts of fun twists and turns. As strange as the song is, the production is solid and it can fit well into a variety of sets.

This will be released on August 10.

Nick Harvey presents Halo - Pure Love

This is a new song featuring singer Heather Leigh West (most notably of "Drop A House" fame). Written and sung by Heather, it is produced by Nick Harvey. Heather's delivers a stirring and powerful vocal performance. The production is a good blend of tribal/electro house. The main synth riff from Razor N' Guido's club classic "Do It Again" is sampled here and works really well. Additional remixes will be released in a few weeks.

This is a great track overall.

Jesse B. Williams v. Brooke Wilkes - Last Day

This is the latest single from Brooke. Written by Jesse B. Williams, the lyrics are really good. The song's style and writing calls to mind such classics as "Don't Let This Moment End". Brooke's vocal performance is memorable and effective. The original version is dance/pop-oriented. It begins like a Donna Summer song with the slow part and then the uptempo production comes in. It has a short mixable intro before the slow part. There are remixes by Manny Lehman, JMBW & Joel Dickinson, and Taz. Manny's is his usual big room brilliance. JMBW & Joel's mix begins like many of their tribal anthems with a drama-filled buildup. The slow part from the original is maintained for the beginning of the first verse and is a nice touch. Taz's version is very synthy and seems to jump through multiple styles within one mix, including big room, electro house, and minimal house. It somehow works. Overall, this is a strong record with a strong remixer lineup.

Ne-Yo - Beautiful Monster

This is the latest single from his upcoming new album. He continues to experiment with dance/electronic sounds on this song. Vocally, Ne-Yo is on-point. However, this song takes a few listens to truly get into it. There are remixes of this by Low Sunday, Mixin Marc & Tony Svejda, and Tony Moran & Warren Rigg. Low Sunday's mixes basically expand upon the original making it more dancefloor-friendly. The Mixin Marc & Tony Svejda mixes are a bit hard and twisted with a tough bassline. Tony & Warren's mixes are pure peakhour bliss. All are good, but Tony & Warren's is the best of the bunch.

Sylvia Tosun - Above All

She is back with her latest single "Above All." This one is just as stunning as her recent releases. Sylvia's vocals are lovely. The production on the original is chilled yet energetic. So far, there are remixes by Ron Reeser & Dan Saenz and Alex M.O.R.P.H. Ron and Dan's mix is in a similar direction as the original but slightly clubbier. Alex M.O.R.P.H. provides a lush, trance mix. Sylvia's vocals become even more hypnotic when over a trancey production. All versions (so far) are great.

Pamala Stanley - The Bank Of Love (Remixes)

The much-awaited remixes for "The Bank Of Love" are finally here. The financial-themed song has a new vocal dub and some big room mixes by Manny Lehman. The new dub has some additional vocals and ad-libs. It's a fun, twisted mix. DJs might want to tease with the dub before mixing into the vocal mix for even greater effect. Manny Lehman provides the scorching hot big room mixes. His mixes provide what the song really needed to take a great song to the next level.

Mariah Carey - Up Out My Face

This originally appeared on her Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel album. It was also remixed as a duet with Nicki Minaj for the now-shelved Angel's Advocate remix album. This fun and sassy kiss-off truly deserved more success than it received. Ralphi Rosario completed remixes for this, making it into a floorfiller. The song translates extremely well into dance mixes. Just enough of Nicki's vocals are kept for the remixes in the right places. Ralphi really turned this one out.

Christina Aguilera - You Lost Me (Remix)

As has been done with a number of her ballads, "You Lost Me" has been a given a makeover for the dancefloor courtesy of Hex Hector & Mac Quayle. Christina went into the studio and recorded some additional vocals for the remixes. Hex and Mac's dark and moody production fits the song quite well. Christina's vocals, especially the new ones sound really great. Only a couple of places during the verses sound unnatural due to the timestretch. Overall, this is a nice mix.

Athene Noelle - Innamorata

"Innamorata" is the debut single from the singer/actress/dancer. She puts a new spin on the classical "Moonlight Sonata." It is an unusual blend of opera and electronic music which works quite well. Athene's vocals are mesmerizing and hypnotic. There are remixes of this by Johnny Vicious and Chris Cox. Johnny takes things in a dark but chilled direction. It has that electro sound that has been characteristic of his recent work, but some of the trancey portions call to mind his work in the early 2000's. The dub has an early 90's rave feel. Chris Cox's mixes have a slightly more epic feel to them and are more suited for this type of song. Both are quite good though.

Kaci Battaglia - Body Shots

This is her latest single which also continues in the more adult territory she ventured into last year with "Crazy Possessive". "Body Shots" is a club-ready song about the popular activity some people engage in at a bar or frat party. It's not nearly as shocking as it sounds, but it's still pretty racy. Kaci sounds good on it. Rapper Ludacris makes a guest appearance on the song and fits in quite well. As has been done in the past, an extensive club remix package has been produced and will be reviewed here eventually. Overall, this is a fun summer track.

Shakira - Waka Waka

This was the official song of the FIFA World Cup this year, which has already come and gone. Although it's a bit late to be reviewing this song here, there is a fabulous dance remix of this by Cutmore which is worth checking out.

The original is a festive, feel-good dance-oriented track. The lyrics are a tad on the sappy side, but still good. Shakira's vocals sound great too. Cutmore's remix keeps the happy vibe of the original and gives it a lush, disco-house makeover. It's very elegant. His recent work has been top-notch, and this is no different.

Adam Lambert - If I Had You

This is the third single off of For Your Entertainment. "If I Had You" is and uptempo Dance/Rock/Electro track. It's a little edgier than the last single ("Whataya Want From Me"), but it's still good. There are remixes for this by Jason Nevins and Dangerous Muse. Jason's mix is his standard Dance/Rock offering. It loses some of the energy that the original has but it's still decent. On the unofficial side, there's a great mix by newcomer Bit Error. The mix captures the fun and energy of the original while making it dancefloor friendly.

Reba McEntire - Turn On The Radio

This is the lead single off of her next album due in the Fall. "Turn On The Radio" is a tale of a woman done wrong by her man. It is slightly new territory for the Country legend to enter with the dance/rock-inflected song, however, it still has all the essentials that a Country song should have. Reba's distinct vocals sound great on this. This could be compared to some of the Pop/Country songs Shania Twain recorded back in the day, particularly the production and maybe the subject matter. This is a fun song and a great start to her next album era.

Ryan W - Oceans

This is the followup to the sensual "Crave" which was released earlier this year. "Oceans" is on the softer, romantic side. Ryan is given a better opportunity to showcase his vocals on this song. Remixes are by Nick Harvey and Ruben Vega. Nick's main versions have his signature tribal sound, however these have a lighter, uplifting feel as well. Imagine a Freemasons mix that was much harder. Ryan's vocals sound great on this. The main mix is over 12 minutes long and remains exciting throughout. Ruben Vega's mixes are slightly less tribal than the title indicates, but these are hard-hitting as well. Both are very well done.

Christian TV - When She Turns 18

This is the debut single from the newcomer. The song is about how a girl will have more freedom and then subsequently choose him when she turns 18. It's an unusual subject to sing about, especially from this point of view, but it works. Vocally, Christian calls to mind Justin Timberlake, particularly on the falsetto notes. The production is electro/dance-pop-oriented. It could be a surprise late summer/early fall hit. LA Riots have done a remix of this which is much more electro-styled.
